Our first litter of Great Pyrenees puppies were born on September 3,
2008. Maggie had EIGHT wonderful little bundles of fur.
She was a great mother...protective of her babies at first but calmed
down very quickly once she realized we were not going to hurt them or
take them away.
Here are pictures of the litter as they grew.

were very lucky to be able to keep in contact with a couple of the
families who purchased a pup from us in the fall of 2008.
Please keep reading to see how they are enjoying their "A Cut Above"
puppy.

NORA
Nora was sold to Ken and Gwen Gregg when she was just wee little - I
think even before she turned 3 days old. She was our only
solid white female. This is the most recent update from Gwen:
We have a few great ones of Nora from around Christmas—she looks
lovely in the snow! She is doing really well, growing like a weed.
She is almost the size of the Rottie now. She’s very friendly, not
so much with strangers (that’s good) but great with her ‘flock’ of
the little dogs (also good!) She loves them—specially one of the
Jack Russells. They are the bestest friends. What a great
pooch she is. Super temperament and very easy going. Thanks
again for a great pooch!

KIRBY
Kirby went to Grande Prairie with Jessica Kelleher. Jesse has
e-mailed consistently telling us how Kirby has adjusted to being a
HOUSE dog. And sent pictures to prove it. Yes, you read
that correctly. He has found a great new home!!
Jesse sent me this letter:
Dear
Carrie,
Just a short letter to let
you know how Kirby is doing! At 5 months he is becoming a big boy
and spends most of his time growing and playing with our Elkhound
puppy, Moose. Kirby is a great addition to our family, he is calm
and easy going, but at the same time fearless. Whenever he hears a
loud or strange noise, he is the first one to investigate it.
He loves all of our
visitors, especially children. My fiancés cousins have many small
kids, and Kirby's favorite thing is to follow them around and play
with them. Kirby loves all things small and has never been
aggressive to other animals regardless of species. In the puppy
socialization class we attended last fall he was chosen to help
socialize a Chihuahua despite the fact he was the biggest puppy in
the class because of his gentle and kind nature.
We have been training Kirby
in basic obedience, and he knows come, sit, stay, wait, lie down,
shake a paw and “touch”. He loves learning new things and picks up
new commands quickly. Because of his breed and age, he’s not
totally consistent yet, but we are working on it! He also loves
being groomed, he finds brushing totally relaxing, and will try to
climb back into the tub after a bath!
All in all, we think Kirby
is a terrific puppy! He’s now part of the family, and we couldn’t
picture not having him. I’d recommend his litter mates to anyone
who wants a guard dog who is easy to live with!
Thanks for all of the help
that you’ve given us along the way, and I look forward to seeing
your new litter!
Sincerely,
Jessica Kelleher, Grande
Prairie, AB
