Two powerful cutting lines were crossed to create this
compact sorrel horse. Young N High, sired by High Brow Hickory and out of
a daughter of Young Gun, is showing himself to be both sharp and keen in front
of a cow.
High Brow Hickory has won over $229,155: NCHA Open Futurity Co-Reserve Champion; NCHA Open'
Breeders Reserve Champion. A 2001 Equi-Stat Top 20 Leading Cutting Sire; an
All-Time Leading Cutting Sire and 2000 Top 25 Leading Cutting Sire, siring the
earners of over $2,900,000.
Diablos Young Gun is a producing daughter of Young
Gun. Her first colt, High Brow Desperado is being shown by Darren Miller
in Reined Cow Horse and has already been in the money in his first shows of
the season.
Young Gun was the 1992 Bonanza 4-Year Old Open Cutting Champion;
1992 Augusta 4-Year Old Open Futurity, tied for 5th;
1993 NCHA Open Classic, tied for 7th;
1996 NonPro NCUA Open Championship, 4th;
1993 NCHA Super Stakes Open Classic, finalist; and
1994 Gerogia National Open Classic, finalist. He won $34,749 NCHA and
his offspring have won just over $1,604,000.
Gunner was shown through his Futurity year by Jason Hanson.
He won his earnings at his first show in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He
also placed 4th in his only show in 2009.
We brought Gunner home in mid-April 2009 to stand at stud
after the devastating loss of Hard Rock N Haida.
In Gunner's second foal crop, we
welcomed two fillies and a colt. All three are stunners. We have
been very pleased with the quality of the foals that Gunner has put on the
ground for us so far and can't wait to hear how they go under saddle once they
have reached that age.
Gunner spent 2 1/2 months with
Rayanne Irving of RKI Horse training in Innisfree in the summer of 2011.
She was working with him on reining movements to start his switch over from
cutting to working cow horse. She said she found him very willing to
work and learn and was a pleasure to ride.
